Sharjah Maritime Academy is the only higher education institution in the UAE offering CAA-accredited baccalaureate degrees in maritime education. Graduates of seafaring programs (Marine Engineering/Maritime Transport) receive both a bachelor's degree and an international Certificate of Competency (CoC), meeting STCW standards. The academy won the SHIPTEK Awards 2024 for "Best Maritime Education and Training Institution in the Region" and boasts an inclusive student body with 37% female enrollment, the highest in the MENA region for maritime institutions.
